Lord Shiva is worshipped in the form of the Shivling (Shiva Lingam), which is found in temples and at home in puja altars. The word Rudrabhishek is made by cojoining two words 'Rudra' and 'Abhishekam', Lord Shiva is also known as Rudra and Abhishekam means “bathing”. Abhishek is the age-old Holy ritual of pouring various liquids like water, Ganga water, milk unto Shiva Lingam this ritual is considered very auspicious by Hindus.

According to Vedic scriptures Rudra Abhishek is the best way to worship Lord Shiva. During Rudra Abhishek, Lord Shiva is worshipped in His Lingam form and powerful hymns/mantras dedicated of Him are chanted, along with offering of various sacred items. The ritual of Rudrabhishek is performed to appease Lord Shiva and to earn his divine grace. Performing puja Vidhi according to Vedic method fills the life of Yajman with peace, attracts abundance, helps to offer success in all undertakings and offers overall protection.
